Books!

OK, OK.  I went a bit crazy.  Just a bit.  I went and bought 9 new books.  :)  I am really looking forward to getting them.  I haven't bought a book in a while.  I received some wonderful books for my Birthday that I need to get to work on as well.  ( I have started a few)
Here are the new ones I just got:

The Moonstone by Wilke Collins
Hard Times by Dickens
The Jungle  by Upton Sinclair
The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Age of Innoncence by Edith Wharton
The Glorious Conspiracy by Joanne Williamson
And Forever Free by Joanne Williamson
To Dream Upon a Crown by Joanne Williamson

Joanne Williamson is an author I really enjoy.  She is a young adult writer of historical fiction.  She has also written Shadow Hawk and Hitite Warrior.  They are probably in my top ten of books.  She writes so well.  Even though they are aimed at a younger audience, I decided  I wanted to build up my library and I can't stay at only "older" material.  Plus I just really like her....  :)

Love in Christ,
Rebecca

Ooh, I LOVE Frakenstein. Sadly, that's the only one on the list that I've read. Happy Reading!

Great list, Rebecca (even if I'm ever-so-slightly jealous)... ;)

Jekyll & Hyde is one of my favorites. It's dark, but thought-provoking and suspenseful, and I think you'll enjoy it a lot.

You'll have to let me know what you think of Upton's Sinclair's The Jungle. I saw it in a bookstore a while back, and sounded quite intriguing.

I will have to write reviews as I read my books and let you know how I like them, Atlanta.

Thanks Sean! What is on your list?

I haven't ever read Frankenstien. But I am glad you like it, Marquette. At least one of the books is good! :)

Yeah, I have been drooling for a while and finally decided to take a bite. I am glad you recomend Jekyll & Hyde! :) I will let you know how I like the Jungle. It was on the classics and looked interesting. (plus I needed one more book to make it to the $25 range with the free shipping!)

I am pretty impatient for them to get here. :)

Rebecca,

With this list of books, it sounds like you will be busy reading for quite sometime. :)

I've read the book "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair. It's a good book, but beware, it's VERY depressing! You better be in your serious mood when you read that book.

"always has her nose in a book"... lol!!! That is very true about you, but I am glad you enjoy it. :) I personally would cower from such a stack. (Hehe, kind of funny, that coming from an aspiring authoress!). Still, you know me! Enjoy your book and maybe I will pick up one or two.. ;)

Love you sis! Sarah

Thanks for the tip, Lady Rose. I will make sure to read it when I don't want something lighthearted and funny. :)

Haha, Sarah. You are NOT allowed to touch ANY of MY books! JK, you are welcome to any of them. I just get first dibs....:D

Also ordering an artisan bread cookbook for mom. :)

I've read a couple of Joanne Williamson's books! I thought they were pretty good. Have you ever heard of Constance Savery? She is a very good British author.I think she wrote mostly for younger people. I've liked all of her books that I've read so far, especially The Reb and the Redcoats.
