New Blog!

I decided to go ahead and open up a photography blog!  It is just started up, and I don't have my computer so I can't add any pictures right now.  Go to http://mastershandiworkphotography.blogspot.com/ to see it, and tell me what you think!

As I said, I can't post any pictures as my computer cord died.  You know, the one that chargers your computer.  The thing that is vitally important to your computer.  Sooooo, I finally found a good deal on Ebay and it is on the way.  Thank goodness!  I have been using Mom's computer (she is such a sweetie to let me use it. :D) but I don't have all my normal stuff on it, which can drive you nuts.
 
We had an inch of rain on Sunday!  God has greened up the grass greatly.  Just in time too, the cows were looking pretty awful.

I've Gone Etsy!

If you have never heard of Etsy, you should go check it out.  It is a really neat website.  A good way to explain it is as a Internet shopping mall and individual people (like me!) sell their special wares in their own "shop".  I have found some beautiful skirts and dresses, lots of earrings, cards, pictures, decor, antiques, trinkets, jewelry, mugs, plates, pens, etc. etc. etc.    You can find just about anything on there!  I already have a list for things to buy people for Christmas.  :)

Do I sound like I am selling a bit?  Ha ha, well,  I am.  I have my own "shop" up on Etsy!  I have really enjoyed doing weddings and other photo shoots, but I haven't had that many at the moment.  I am not ready to push it and get it going full time yet.  I did think that I could sell my pictures that turn out the best.  So I signed up with Etsy.  I am excited and nervous about it.  It is always hard to know what other people will buy. So I am just going to put different ones up and see which ones sell! 

I do have a long post coming out with what else has been fun in my life. (ha).  I do covet your prayers on the ranch.  We got the appraisal in and it wasn't what we were wanting.  Now it is time to rethink what we are going to do.  Not fun.  Please be praying for my parents especially.  They are the ones to have to come up with a game plan.

Roses

We are finished with our first round of Drama!  We had 2 wonderful performances that went off smoothly.  :)  It was so neat to hear the crown laughing at parts we thought funny...at the beginning of the year.  By the end of 15 weeks we were a bit...used....to them.  It really came off well.  It was such a delight to see friends in the audience!  That was a bit of fun!  Sarah has had many laughs over her "chicken" performance. :D 

All of the moms banded together and bought Mom and I some Roses.  (since it was Mother's Day weekend they found some beauts!) They didn't have to, but you know how it goes.  I decided to put them to use so I pressed some of the petals and took the rest of the roses out for a photo shoot!  At one point, the unstable bench I had them on fell over.  Imagine how it was to be looking through the viewfinder at roses one minute and seeing them disappear the next!  It took me a second to realize what had happened...... :)

George MacDonald

Well, things are still up in the air with the ranch thing.  Please just keep it in your prayers.  We don't want someone to come and buy it only to struggle.  It needs to be something they can handle as well.  After being bummed that things aren't moving faster, we are all remembering that it is OK.  God brought us past where we thought we could go.  He has Blessed us many, many times.  It was disappointing, but I think we are fine with it in our disappointment.  There is nothing that we can do.  It is not any different than what it was a month ago.  God was providing for us then, and He will provide for us now.

On a happier note, I am meeting a lady tomorrow to sign papers for my first wedding shoot!  I am excited and nervous about that.  God was good to me and brought me an older couple with a small wedding.  Nice for the first time. :)  My photography friend and mentor is coming with me as well!  God really blessed me with her. :D

Here is a quote from one of my favorite authors, George MacDonald in his book The Landlady's Master.

"At other times they went on with the usual employments and games of children. But there was this
difference between them and most grown Christians- when anything roused thought of question, they at
once referred it to the words of Jesus, and having discovered His will, made haste to do it. Their faith

was not theological, nor did they ever stop to consider whether their beliefs matched the tenets of the

Shorter Catechism they had learned. Practicality was the only code between them: could something

be done? If so, where was to be found the first opportunity to do it? "

This passage (the whole book!) really encourage me to remember to include seeing the daily action that Christ showed us.  Include it along with studying what He was meaning.  This book reminded me that Christ did both.  He practised and He taught.  I find it easy to get wrapped up in pondering it, rather than doing it.  I mean doing it as in seeing the World through His eyes and how I can show the world His love. 

Anyway, I hope it encourages you as it encouraged me.  If you haven't read George MacDonald, I recommend him.  He has some huge nuggets in his books.  (the bits I have read)
